4 days tour from Fes to Marrakech including desert and nomad experience

Overview

Embark on a 4-day desert expedition starting from Fes.

Day 1 takes you through the Middle Atlas mountains, stopping at Ifrane and Michlifen Park. Witness the changing landscapes as you approach Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset and spend the night in a luxury camp for a nomadic experience.

Day 2 explores nomadic life, visiting tents and experiencing El Khamlia’s African music. Venture to Rissani’s traditional market and return to camp under a starlit sky.

Day 3 travels to Erfoud, Todgha Gorges, and Boumalne Dades, showcasing the desert’s colors and Berber villages. The final day heads to Marrakech, passing through Kelaat Mgouna, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Haddou, and the High Atlas mountains. Encounter local culture, studios, and historical sites. The journey concludes with a return to Marrakech, offering a memorable and enriching experience.

Itinerary

Day 1 from Fes to Merzouga

Day 1 after having your breakfast at your riad, your driver guide will join you to pick you up and to start your journey to the desert, leaving the spiritual capital of Morocco(Fes), towards the Erg Chebbi dunes you will be crossing the southern part of the middle Atlas mountains, you will have a short stop by the cleanest and safest town in Morocco, known as the Switzerland of Morocco , Ifrane town, later on your stop by Michlifen park where the macaque Apes live.

The changing of the land colors and trees will show you that you are moving further to the desert, with some oases on the road, crossing the High Atlas mountains as well.
You will be in the desert by the evening around 5 pm, you will go for a camel ride, for the sunset at the top of the dunes, then to your luxury camp to spend the night in a different atmosphere of the imperial city of Fes, a nomadic experience.

Day 2 , nomad experience,

Today, you will start your journey at 10am, you will drive through the dunes and the off-road to visit the nomads, you will be welcomed in their tents and to interact with them, the next stop is EL Khamlia, a small village that is famous of art, a kind of African music that is presented by Moroccan black people , after enjoying their art, the next is to enjoy the local food which is a berber pizza, and of course different than the Italian pizza lol.

Later the next destination is Rissani town, after getting back to the normal road, you will drive to the Rissani town to visit one of the oldest markets in Morocco which still used as a daily traditional market, you will have a chance to walk around and to try some local food as well, interacting with locals, and to see the different and the simple life of the people.
By the evening you will go back to the camp for a second night enjoying the full sky of stars.

Day 3 from Merzouga to dades Valley

Day 3 towards Dades Valley, you will firstly stop by Erfoud city, known as the city of fossils, you get a chance to know more about the archeology of the area, a short visit to the museum.
Then a ride straight to the Todgha Gorges, your enjoy the scenery of the changing colors of the desert land and the mountains , you will stop for lunch and to have a short break as well, in Tinghir town you will immerse into the high Atlas again to visit the todgha Gorges, then back for Boumalne Dades, the berber villages everywhere, a different way of living. The overnight in the Dades Valley.

 

Day 4 From Dades Valley to Marrakech

The longest street in Morocco known as the street of 1000 kasbahs, to the city of roses, Kelaat Mgouna, you will stop to see the process of how making the rose water, you keep on the driving to Ouarzazate, Ouarzazate or the Hollywood of Morocco due to the studios that it has, studios were made for movies illustration, you will have a short stop to visit the Studio Atlas, as another activity added to your day, after, straight to Ait Ben Haddou castle, a UNESCO world heritage site, very famous and culturally presents the huge Moroccan history.

You will go around walking with a local guide that is offered by the company to guide you and to enjoy more about the area after the walk you will have lunch around the castle in a panoramic view of the castle.
Later on, you will continue driving to cross the high Atlas mountains to the north side, to Marrakech , you will have some short stops for amazing views of the High Atlas to enjoy the beauty of nature at the top of the mountains.

You will also get a chance to stop by a women’s cooperative on the road in case you would like to see how the local women support themselves in such areas like the mountains of the high Atlas.
By the evening around 5pm you will be at your hotel/Riad.
