Embark on a captivating 5-day journey from Marrakech to the mesmerizing Merzouga desert and back.

Day one begins with a scenic drive through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, exploring rural villages and the UNESCO site, Ait Benhaddou. Ouarzazate, famed as the ‘Hollywood of Africa,’ is a highlight, boasting film locations for Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. Overnight in the lush oasis of Skoura.

Day two explores Kasbah Amridil and the dramatic Todra Gorge, leading to a luxury desert camp in Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride amidst stunning sand dunes and a traditional desert dinner.

Day three involves 4WD exploration of Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting Merzouga oasis, Khamlia Village, and meeting desert nomads.

Day four includes Rissani exploration and a journey through Al Nkoube, Agdze, and Ait Ben Haddou. The final day takes you to the beautiful Kasbah of Telouat before returning to Marrakech, concluding this enriching desert adventure.

Itinerary

Day 01 : Marrakech – Telouate – Ouarzazate – Skoura

Leave the ochre-coloured city of Marrakech behind and head towards the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka pass and observe everyday life in remote rural villages. Afternoon, visit the fascinating UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, one of the finest examples of South Moroccan architecture, boasting one of Morocco’s well-preserved kasbahs.

Your journey continues via Ouarzazate, it is known as the Hollywood of Africa, such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Star Wars having been filmed here. Today you will overnight in Skoura, is a fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves that provide great views of the Atlas Mountains.

Day 02 : Dades Valley – Toudra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga Sahara Desert

Today, explore the famous Kasbah Amridil, then head towards the road of a thousand Kasbahs to the Sahara Desert, en route passing through the dry, rugged Boumalne Dades. Todra Gorge known as the ‘Grand Canyon of the Sahara’, a massive trench that rises over 300 meters to form one of the most dramatic and breathtaking natural sights in Morocco.

The limestone stacks make a perfect area for hiking, and so today you will take a short walk through the sheer cliffs. Late afternoon you will settle into the luxury desert camp in Merzouga. The stunning reddish-hued sand dunes can reach up to 150 meters high, creating an otherworldly landscape. Enjoy your camel ride for around 45 minutes during sunset. Then, return to your camp for a traditional dinner before a campfire. Slumber tonight in comfort, as the sounds of the desert.

Day 03 : Sahara Desert Exploration

Today we will explore the Erg Chebbi dunes by 4WD. On the tour, we will visit the oasis of Merzouga, and Khamlia Village, where you can hear Gnaoua music from the local people who are descendants of ex-slaves that found their way to Morocco from Senegal via the Salt Route. We will continue on to meet desert nomads in their tents and discover their way of life.

We will also visit the nearby Lake of Merzouga, with its diverse population of birds (weather dependent.) Afterwards, we will leave for Rissani. Once called Sijilmassa, this was the meeting place for the salt caravans coming from Timbuktu, Mali.

Here you’ll be able to walk through the largest souk in the south, where you will be able to find spices, vegetables, and cloth and possibly see livestock and camels being traded. After lunch, there will be time to relax by the pool (or alternatively enjoy a quad bike or dune buggy experience in the dunes) before we set off to Kasbah Hotel near sand dunes.

Day 04 : Rissani – Al Nkoube – Agdze – Ait Ben Haddou

Today, explore one of the famous city in the south of morocco RISSANI This location at the gates of the desert, at the crossroads of two , the most important trans-Saharan routes and a few kilometers from a river and an oasis was the major reason for building the tradepost of Sijilmasa here in the middle of the 8th century, on the outskirts of modern-day Rissani, after that we will continue to NKOUBE for lunch break , then we go head to On a lonely stretch of desert road in southeastern Morocco Alnif and the surrounding basin is the best place in Morocco, and one of the most renowned in the world, for collecting the prehistoric creatures known as trilobites.
After enjoying our time there we will continue to Agdz. The city lies at the foot of Djebel Kissane and on the banks of the river Draa. A long oasis stretches between Agdz and Zagora. Villages have been built around the old kasbahs and green palm groves are spread along the road.

Day 05 : Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech

After our breakfast we will leave the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah to join one of the amazing village in the middle of the High Atlas Mountain called Telouet with a beautiful Kasbah of Telouat where we will enjoy the visite , after an unforgettable visite we continue to Ait Barka village where we will stop for lunch break and rich Marrakech in the end of our trip
